Once the company is successfully incorporated and gets approval from the SSM, every company shall inform SSM of the location of its registered office within Malaysia by submitting Form 44 to SSM.
All statutory records, registers, minute books and common seal are required to be kept in the registered office of your company, normally will be at the company secretary’s office. Your business office is a place where your business operations & activities are conducted.
The registered office is NOT your business office. You can have your business office anywhere in Malaysia, be it at your home, shop, factory or even if you don’t have one.
Registered is NOT your mailing address. The registered office of the company is an important intermediary between the company and the Companies Commission of Malaysia and other government bodies, government agencies and statutory bodies to surrender their documents to the company from time to time.
Note: Need to notify the Registrar of any change of the address of his registered office as in section 47 of the Companies Act 2016 subsection (3) within fourteen days from the date of the changes.
